Reminder re Withdrawals

To prevent empty lanes, it is essential that any swimmer who has entered but is unable to compete on the day, formally withdraws in accordance with Promoter’s Conditions as detailed following:

 Warwickshire Championships Terms and Conditions.

  1. Withdrawals

6.1. Withdrawal before the day will be via email, please email georgina.holtom@coventry-swimming.org.uk

6.2. The promoter cannot accept any responsibility for emails which are not received.

6.3. Final notice of the withdrawal of swimmers from a club shall be reported to the recorder via email or in person no later than 1 hour before the earliest published session start time. Failure to report for the 800m & 1500m Freestyle events will be subject to a fine of £10 for non- withdrawal. The swimmer may not compete again in the Championships until the fine is paid. In the event of a swimmer not paying the fine, the club in whose name the swimmer has entered the competition shall be responsible for payment.

6.4. Notice of withdrawal by a finalist or reserve finalist shall be given to the recorders no later than 30 minutes from the announcement/posting of finalists. It is the responsibility of the finalists & reserves to notify the recorders if they do not wish to swim. Failure to notify withdrawal from a final shall be subject to a £10 fine. The swimmer may not compete again in the Championships until the fine is paid. In the event of a swimmer not paying the fine, the club in whose name the swimmer has entered the competition shall be responsible for payment. It is the responsibility of the swimmer to check if they are required for a final. The recorders will not announce the withdrawal of swimmers.

6.5. All reserves who do not withdraw before the deadline must report to the marshalling area with the finalists, ready to swim. If they are not required, they will then be released by the marshals. Where a reserve is brought in at short notice then the reserve shall occupy the vacant lane, there will be no amendments to the allocation of lanes.

UPDATE 05 JANUARY 2022.

The Promoter has issued the 4th & final version of the Programme of Events for the 2022 Championships, including warm-up and session start timings; now that all entries have been processed. 

The Promoter also wishes to stress the importance of sufficient volunteers making themselves available; without which it will be impossible to stage the event.
